Family Group Sheet form
The Family Group Sheet (or Family Group Record) is a basic tool of the genealogist to record the information on one family unit: father, mother and children. Each child and their spouse and children would be on a separate FGS.
If the Husband or wife married more than once, that would be considered a different family unit and would require another FGS. If an adult child listed on a FGS did not marry, it should be recorded in the "Notes" section below.
Any corroborating evidence -- birth, marriage or death certificates (Certificate number and date recorded), census information, church records, etc. -- should also be added in the "Notes and Sources of Information".
