Thank you for visiting the WINKER.NET web site.18 May 2003: In recent months there has been considerable abuse of this Guestbook by email spammers trying to electronically harvest addresses. Ambiguous messages to collect more victims has been taking place several times a week and I spend more time deleting those messages than I do enjoying the friendly messages of family members. As a result I feel it necessary to suspend the Guestbook. I regret having to take this action, but feel it is necessary to protect the privacy of legitimate visitors to this site.
Since most harvesting is done electronically, I have slightly altered the email addresses on this page so spammers' computers will not recognize them as email addresses.

Tim, It is apparent you have put a lot of time and effort into this project. My kids are fascinated as am I and my mother. My grandmother, Beulah Young, is the daughter of Peter Phillips and Katherine Lux (She died with the name of Kroll because she married Lawrence Kroll after divorcing Peter Phillips). Katherine's maiden name was Lux. Her mother and father were August Lux and Catherine Peters, and as you know, August was one of Florian's sons. This so far, is the only thread in my family that I have any information on, so I thank you for your wonderful input. Keep in touch! Barbara

My wife's great grandmother was Martha Winker, married to Richard Rees. His birthdate is 1845. We have no other informaton other than they were from Spaichigen and were baptized in the Church of SS. Peter and Paul. My wife's cousin Father Walter Rees visited a Mr. Roland Weber some years ago and he mentioned a Dr. Winker. Are you his son? Do you know of Martha Winker Rees or the Rees family? Richard Rees' father was Michael Rees 1805-1888 his mother was Franziska Hagen 1808-1863. If you could provide any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I´m very glad to have found this site - the origin of the Winker family seems to be in Spaichingen (Germany, exactly: in Baden-Württemberg, next greater town: Tuttlingen), where the Winker´s are documented since the time of the thirty-year-war (1618-1648). My father was born there, too - jet there live a lot of Winker´s; spread all over Germany about hundred families, all of them with the origin in Spaichingen. - If someone would like to contact me, please send me a mail.

Hello to all the Winker's around the world. Is anyone of you related to "Michael Winker" who was a painter? He was born in 1890 and died about 1950. I am not a Winker myself (actually I am an Egyptian citizen) but I do own, in my paintings collection, a superb still life, painted in the early 20th century by Michael WINKER. Hi! This is Liz (you might know me as Beth). I'm from South Dakota (Charlie's my Dad) but have been living in Germany for almost 10 years now. (Hi Arlene!)I'm pretty sure that our family has come from Spaichingen, Germany, and I have gotten a couple of addresses from people living there. The Winkers and another family called Hauser emmigrated from Spaichingen in the early 1800's. They've built a small chapel where the names of people who left at that time are listed on the wall and Winkers and Hausers are definitely the main families that were involved.
The Hausers still have family get-togethers. I've been meaning to contact them, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll post anything that I do find out though!

Hi to all the Winker's out there. I am looking for my 12-year-old son Dewey's half brother Jason Winker, and Half sister Jasmine Winker, whom he has never met. There father's name is Carl David Winker, last known to me from Lake Havasu City, Arizona. As far as I know, his family is from somewhere in Wisconsin, his (Carl's) mother is Nellie, and also has a brother nick-named Dewey. Please my son wants to know his relatives. Hi. What a surprise to find a Winker Web Site! My grandmother was Martha Magdaline Feuerstein Winker from Leshara, Nebraska who married John William Winker and moved to Kingsbury County, Howard, South Dakota. I have seen a picture of Martha & John's wedding picture that could almost be a duplicate of Lewis & Cecilia's. Also, in the 1st family history book there is a picture of the "Double Cousins" that matches your picture of the family from the 1940's. What fun! My cousin just completed a 2nd family history update on John & Martha's family in the summer of 2000. I can't wait to share your web site with other Winker's.

Just a followup to my previous note. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and I can't take too much of the reponsibility for the interesting presidential election we had last year. I've lived in Tallahassee for almost 30 years having come here to attend Florida State University (go Seminoles!!) in the early 1970s. I have a son, Erik age 20 and a daughter, Blair age 17. My brother and his wife in Plymouth, Wisconsin, have two daughters, married and starting to raise their own families. I notice other Winker's in Wisconsin.
